WE do that in Singapore too. Just that we use a hook. Using hooks much more fun coz we get to fight it like a fish does.

Awesome video! Looks like so much fun. We tried fresh fish (not oily but a little bloody) and they came within minutes! I love your soundtrack too!

@kaluevue Thank you very much! I'm honestly surprised it's still getting views, actually - it was just something I literally put together on a spur of the moment! I feel aallll special!

This is one of the best Yabby fishing vids I've ever seen... Great job.

@crayfishmates I'll have to try the oily fish idea. My partner swears by kangaroo meat - he thinks the bloodier the better. But we haven't tried fresh chicken or oily fish, so it's something to think about!

@mjg20010 Don't know if they are illegal in a privately owned dam - I didn't know they were illegal at the Murray River, either! But Murray River yabbies don't taste as good as home bred ones.

@JJsDragonforce Don't know, I've always been too chicken to find out!

@cookamidgera Lol - this was all make-shift stuff that we found lying around, so we weren't too concerned about efficiency. It's only a small dam, we could pretty much reach in and just grab them out of the water if we really wanted to. Actually, one of us did (not me, I'm the girly one doing all the squeeling *shame*). But yeah, better using actual yabby nets if you want to be effective.
